On May 22, 2015, China, Brazil, and Peru signed a memorandum of understanding agreeing to conduct a feasibility study on the proposed transcontinental railway line connecting Peru's Pacific coast with Brazil's Atlantic coast. The Chinese government is willing to help build the railway line.
The feasibility study was funded through the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) signed on May 22, 2015, but its monetary value is unknown (see Record ID#62361).
The Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communication and the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation are involved in project implementation.
