Grant Description

On November 7, 2013, China and Tonga have signed a grant agreement for Economic and Technical Cooperation for a 50 million RMB (est.TOP$15 million) grant during the second China-Pacific Islands Economic and Development Cooperation Forum, being held in Guangzhou.

The Government of the People’s Republic of China extended invitations and partially funded the delegation from various sectors of Tonga’s agriculture, fishery, trade, tourism, and new energy technologies sectors to attend the Forum and formulate development proposals with their Chinese counterparts.

It is unclear if this sum was ever disbursed.
