Grant Description

In May 2002, a report said that China will be giving Fiji close to 7.5m dollars for grant aid assistance. The Ministry of Information says this was made possible through the signing of a memorandum of understanding. A possible usage is that two ships could be purchased to service the outer islands.

This was one of Fiji's many agendas to request China's assistance in the purchase of the ships and the construction of a Pacific Village.
