Grant Description

During Chinese Vice Minister of Trade and Industry Zhong Shan's visit to Suriname from February 29 to March 2, 2012, representatives of the Governments of China and Suriname signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), which provided the Government of Suriname a grant of RMB 30 million (about USD 4.8 million).

It is unknown how these funds were ultimately allocated, although a portion of the funds were intended for agricultural purposes.
