Grant Description

On June 9th of 2009 the Chinese government donated 2 million Yuan (approximately 300,000 USD) to Colombia for the ongoing efforts to clear the country of anti-personnel mines.

The government agency Programa Presidencial para la Acción Integral contra Minas Antipersonal (PAICMA) received the funds to implement rebuilding and development efforts in the village of Bajo Grande, in the Montes de Maria, which is now clear of mines but has not yet been developed enough for the families who were displaced to return.

There were no further records as to whether this land acquisition ever happened, or how the remainder of the funds were to be used.
