Grant Description

On May 2, 2001, a Chinese government official signed a protocol committing to send a 19th Medical Team to Zanzibar.

The 21-member team's mission is to work with Zanzibar medical staff at Zanzibar Naz Moga Hospital and Pemba Abdullah Mucai Hospital, provide technical assistance, and exchange medical knowledge. This medical mission began in June 2001 and ended in July 2003.

Under the agreement, Tanzania was responsible for covering housing, living expenses, transportation, and international travel expenses. Jiangsu Province was responsible for selecting the team and preparing them for their mission.
