Grant Description

On 30 December 2008, Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Yang Houlan and Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Dafar Spanta signed an agreement under which China would provide 50 million Chinese Yuan to Afghanistan for consultative projects between the two countries. Details regarding which project would benefit from the grant are yet to be found.

Chinese ECCO website stated that Chinese foreign minister Yang Jiechi announced at a international donors' conference for Afghanistan in Paris in June 2008 that China will be providing the 50 million Chinese yuan to Afghanistan to support reconstruction efforts.
