Grant Description

In meetings with Bangladesh on September 16, 2008, China expressed interest in setting up cooperations to invest in and establish the North-West Fertilizer Factory in Sirajganj, Bangladesh.

Chief Adviser Fakhruddin discussed China-Bangladesh relations as a friendship, and Bangladesh requested 560 million USD for the project, but China instead suggested a mixed credit scheme. As of April 2015, ministry officials have mentioned that the government still has plans to set this up.
