On August 25 2010, China and Cambodia pledged to enhance cooperation in law enforcement, counter-terrorism, drug control and fighting transnational crime.
Zhou Yongkang, a senior leader of the Chinese Communist Party, hoped that the security and law enforcement organs of the two nations would work together to push the comprehensive cooperative partnership between China and Cambodia.
Calls for the promotion of bilateral law enforcement cooperation was similarly observed in a meeting with Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu and visiting Cambodian National Police Commissioner General Neth Savoeun on December 14th 2012.
During the meeting, Meng expressed his hope for the two sides to further enhance exchanges, promote cooperation in cracking down on telecommunications fraud, drugs and terrorism, and carrying out police investigations.
