China Eximbank provides $89.2 million preferential buyer’s credit for National Road No. 76 (NR 76) Extension Project On February 2, 2012, China Eximbank and the Government of Cambodia signed an $89,273,400 preferential buyer’s credit (PBC) agreement [China Eximbank PBC No. (2012) 2 Total No. (190)] for the National Road No. 76 (NR 76) Extension Project.
The proceeds of the PBC were to be used by the borrower to partially finance an EPC contract with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
The purpose of the project was to support the extension of National Road No. 76 (NR 76) from Sen Monorum in Mondokiri Province to Snoul and the Senmonolong Section of NR 766.
It is a three-level, two-way two-lane highway with a total length of 171.78 kilometers (of which 50 km are newly built). CRBC was the EPC contractor responsible for implementation. The project was supervised by Guangzhou Wanan Construction Supervision Company.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 31, 2012, and the road extension was officially inaugurated on November 21, 2016.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the National Road No. 76 (NR 76) Rehabilitation Project (Snuol to Senmonorom Mondolkiri Section) was also held on January 31, 2012. It was funded by a separate $51,900,000 China Eximbank preferential buyers' credit (see Record ID#32153).
