Grant Description

The Physiological Society (TPS) is seeking support from Wellcome to run a two day conference on the topic of climate change and health at the QEII in London 16-17 July 2025.

The conference builds on the partnership TPS has developed with Wellcome on the topic of climate change and health as well as our long track record of running successful conferences.

Following the conference, there will be comprehensive report summarising outcomes, highlighting opportunities for translating research into action, and creating a roadmap for future impact.

This roadmap will focus on how the scientific discussions link to implementation mechanisms with processes and steps outlined to drive forward and monitor progress e.g. where research gaps are identified there should be proposals for tackling them, or where implementation challenges are identified there could be a sandbox discussion on how to overcome them.

By linking closely to Wellcome's stated aims of generating evidence, fostering collaboration, and ensuring equitable health outcomes in the face of climate change, this conference will serve as a catalyst for driving forward the global response to climate-related health challenges.
