Grant Description

Chinese Government provides RMB 80 million interest-free loan — via ETCA — for unspecified purposes On December 24, 2001, the Chinese Government and the Government of Cambodia signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), which committed an RMB 80 million interest-free loan for unspecified purposes (over a period of five years from January 1, 2002, to December 31, 2006).

The Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Ning Fukui and Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong inked the agreement at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

RMB 24 million of the loan proceeds were eventually allocated to a road resurfacing project (captured in linked Record ID#32021).
