The Wellcome Accelerator Award will allow me to develop as an early-career researcher in work and health research by disseminating my thesis, completing training to build my skill base and accelerate me to the next stage of my academic career through international collaborative research and preparation of a funding proposal.
Therefore, I will complete several objectives across the 24-months: 1) PhD dissemination: My thesis examined adjustment disorder in the military.
I will develop lay outputs (i.e., bitesize videos & infographics), present findings to the target population, submit papers for publication and produce reports for policymakers.
I will also present findings at several conferences (e.g., ESTSS). 2) Training: To develop as an early- career researcher and move towards becoming a principal investigator, I will complete a comprehensive training program including understanding research for policy, leadership skills, and methodological training such as intersectionality and reflexivity. 3) Rutgers University visit: I will work with researchers in the Centre for Women & Work to conduct research projects focused on ethnicity and gender in the workplace including secondary data analysis and a scoping review. 4) Prepare a funding proposal: I will develop a proposal as principal investigator to better understand women’s experiences in the workplace.
