Chinese Government provides $2,248,520.71 grant for 6th Phase of People's Palace and Martyrs Stadium Technical Cooperation Project (linked to Record ID#s #53459, #58848, #58849, #58850, #58853, #58960, and #58962)

In 2008, the Chinese Government committed $2,248,520.71 in grant funding for the 6th Phase of People's Palace and Martyrs Stadium Technical Cooperation Project.

The purpose of this project was to maintain and repair the People's Palace (Chinese name: 人民宫) and the Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa.

According to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Aid Management Platform (AMP), only only $555,921.29 was disbursed in support of this project as of January 3, 2008.

The French project title is 6è tranche de coopération technique pour le stade des martyres et de palais du peuple à Kinshasa.

The repair and maintenance of the People's Palace has been undertaken in several other phases: see the 7th phase (#58848), 8th phase (#58849), 9th phase (#58850), and 10th phase (#58853).
