Analyzing neuroimaging data is no small feat. It often requires time and effort to craft specialized software solutions. With the proliferation of open-source tools, this endeavour has become more complex. Moreover, differences in dependencies can lead to inconsistencies in the results obtained. In response to these challenges, the Neurodesk project (https://www.neurodesk.org/) was developed.
Neurodesk empowers scientists worldwide to access neuroimaging data analysis tools and apply them in a consistent, reproducible manner across a diverse range of computing environments.
The Neurodesk platform encompasses a browser-accessible Linux desktop environment integrated into Jupyterlab, a cross-platform desktop client, and a command line interface.
These elements facilitate access to the Neurodesk software libraries from various systems, encompassing personal computers, cloud computing resources, high-performance computers, and computational notebooks.
Neurodesk boasts more than 900 monthly active users from 60 countries and has been described in a paper recently accepted in Nature Methods.
This proposal aims to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the Neurodesk project by focusing on streamlining community contributions, developing an interactive documentation system and facilitating the use of Neurodesk in teaching and workshops.
