While a specialist in physics and characterisation, I became very much interested in materials science during my work in BCAST.
Now I am keen to extend my knowledge and skills in material science by learning the metallurgical subjects, alloys development techniques through investigating a scientific problem that is the subject of the PhD project.
This project requires the knowledge and expertise of advanced characterisation methods and techniques, as well as scientific interpretation of the data.
I am very much familiar with the characterisation facilities of BCAST, but want to expand my experience to materials processing. This project is co-sponsored by Constellium which a major materials manufacturer. The experience in working with industry will enhance my future employment prospects.
