Molecules confined at interfaces rearrange into molecular layers with distinct properties as compared to the same molecules in the bulk.
In this project we aim at using an aerosol jet printer in order to deposit droplet with controlled chemical composition and make molecules to crystallize very close to the surface, hence producing molecular layers. The printing parameters will need to be optimized and different types of precursors will be explored.
The molecular layers will be characterized by optical spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy to get information on the molecular interactions.
