Grant Description

The aim of the research is to understand whether membership of farmer environmental groups affects farmers' willingness and capacity to plant trees on their land. This responds to efforts by land management agencies to seek new ways to encourage tree planting on farmland.

In addition to incentivising planting there is a recognised need to facilitate knowledge exchange and offer supportive extension services and farmer self-identity, cultural norms, and the social context in which farmers operate can influence tree planting willingness.
