Grant Description

This project will develop biosynthetic route to produce HQ from waste C-rich feedstocks using engineered microorganisms.

Building upon an existing project within the lab, this PhD studentship will focus on further assessing diver C-rich industrial waste streams as microbial C sources and their effect on C flux through three potential de novo biosynthetic pathways to access HQ with the goal of progressing this technology closer towards industrial application.
