Active STUDENTSHIP UKRI Gateway to Research

Development of bioinformatic pipelines for multi-omics data to model the effect of small-molecule driven lipid metabolism on autophagy regulation

Funder Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council
Recipient Organization Imperial College London
Country United Kingdom
Start Date Sep 30, 2024
End Date Mar 30, 2028
Duration 1,277 days
Number of Grantees 1
Roles Supervisor
Data Source UKRI Gateway to Research
Grant ID 2931017
Grant Description

(Lipid)metabolism, containing microbial and host metabolites, regulates biological processes, such as autophagy (Rabinowitz and White 2010), a cellular function that eliminates damaged cell organelles and misfolded proteins, therefore maintaining cellular homeostasis in every cell.

Better understanding the interplay between autophagy and lipid metabolism will improve health and contribute to healthy ageing.
