Grant Description

This PhD will explore the application of thermal and energy retrofit on pre-1919 buildings within the Glasgow University Campus.

The research will bring together innovative digital twin technology (using IESVE software), IOT technology and advanced calibration techniques to allow the assessment of thermal and energy interventions to archetypes.

The intended output of this PhD will be a digital twin model, with a significant simulated energy consumption reduction due to applied retrofit measures. This in turn will create an archetypal retrofit plan suited for application to other similar pre-1919 UK buildings.
