Queer Space: (de/re) Constructing Trans Narratives in 20th and 21st century Fiction

The book I hope to produce is structured around three generations of one family as they come together to mark the death of a grandparent, and through this reflects the changing attitudes to sexuality and gender across the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The central character, Cam, has been coming to terms with their own non-binary identity, and

this is their first visit home after beginning testosterone therapy. Raised in a matriarch-heavy family, their choice to shrug off the mantle of womanhood comes with challenges.
