There is a knowledge gap concerning the accessibility of music production hardware and software for professionals with motor disabilities. This PhD will address that issue, using combined qualitative methods (structured interviews and video observations) and dialogue with hardware and software manufacturers to
identify improvements to allow disabled individuals to enter and progress within the industry, and will centre around three areas of study: (1) the issues faced by physically impaired individuals, (2) how existing and developmental hardware and software could be improved (3) the relevance and viability of proposed
improvements.
