Grant Description

The aim of the project is to study the birational geometry of higher-dimensional Fano varieties and Fano-Mori fibre spaces over a positive-dimensional base and obtain birational rigidity-type results for a new class of higher-dimensional rationally connected varieties, including computation of their groups of birational self-maps and proving their non-rationality.

This is a very important topic in the modern higher-dimensional birational geometry, with strong links to the Minimal Model Program and the theory of K-stability of projective algebraic varieties"
