The research program is aimed at investigating the interaction between soils and offshore wind turbine (OWT) foundations under complex dynamic wind and wave loading scenarios.
Responses of soils, specifically the accumulation and dissipation of pore water pressure, as well as the damping behaviour during repeated loading will be investigated.
The ultimate goal of this project is to develop a modelling framework of OWT foundations that can be used in the guidance of the practical design of the OWT system.
