Grant Description

My PhD will aim to investigate the emergence of broad-scale economic impacts caused by biological invasions.

More specifically, I will develop a novel framework to predict the likelihood and magnitude of economic impacts from species traits (acquired from pre- and post-invasion) of invasive species. Additionally, I aim to compare the evaluated economic impacts of biological invasions with their ecological impacts.

This research will inform and enable proactive ecological management and targeted actions to mitigate biological invasions' economic and social damages as well as environmental damages.

The disciplines included in this PhD are evolutionary biology, invasion biology, environmental economics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
