Fatal and serious accident investigations with respect to the original system equipment design utilising the following research areas; systems engineering; resource management; operational management; strategic decision making and effects on existing defence programs; organisational design; change management; human factors considerations; digital twins employment; and machine learning.
Recommendations made in reports are often repeated - 'history repeats itself', learning from experience via AI/ML to create a pool of knowledge, rather than relying on one person with years of experience to notice the trends etc. Potential to engage with other accident analysis branches, e.g., RAIB, AAIB, MAIB and new automotive AIB (access supported via primary supervisor)
