My project will analyse surrealist aesthetics and tendencies in contemporary world cinema by examining the legacy of the first surrealist filmmakers. The project will investigate the reimagining of the representation of dreams, reality, and the abandonment of logic in contemporary film. The value of my research will be
far-reaching: It will connect with international platforms and directors, assess timely and relevant themes including AI, new digital media and post-cinema, and tackle the resurgence of Surrealism, an artistic movement with the potential to expand the world of cinema and incite change globally, socially, and historically.
