Grant Description

1.

Develop a turtle/tortoise-inspired mobile robot that mimics the multi-terrain and amphibious locomotion of biological chelonians. 2.

Utilize soft robotics technology and bio-inspired control to achieve instantaneous transitions between locomotion modalities in response to changes in the environment. 3.

Demonstrate comparable locomotion performance, characterized by speed, energy consumption and continuous operation across distinct environments/terrains.
