WMG have developed a new family of next generation electrical steels.
These possess improved combination of processability and performance for e-motors, specifically high frequency machines such as newer electric car and drones.
The student will look into barriers to entry and additional performance criteria of these alloys to have real world benefit. This involves but not limited to cut edge damage and oxidation behaviour. Where possible the alloy will be optimised for specific applications.
