Solvable lattice models and similar combinatorial devices are an important tool in representation theory, with connection to geometry, mathematical physics, and number theory.
Various objects in the representation theory of reductive groups (for example, Whittaker functions, Macdonald polynomials and their analogues) can be understood using combinatorial models in terms of lattice models. This project will explore the above areas and their connections.
