This PhD research aims to develop hardware & software systems to improve industrial, scientific, social and environmental processes in the marine environment.
This research will co-design, operate and assess new distributed sensing platforms to enable step-changes in the efficient and robust acquisition and interpretation of marine data.
These advances are required to maintain and sustainably accelerate ocean technologies and enterprise whilst mitigating the risks of such advances to the natural marine environment.
The data-provisioning network comprises sensor hardware, communicating sub-systems, novel marine edge-computing and integration with supervisory off-and-on-line simulations and control systems.
