This project centres on the development and analysis of models capturing the dynamics of pedestrian movement.
By analyzing typical pedestrian flows and deviations from these stable patterns, the project can provide deeper insights into pedestrian behavior across various conditions, such as differing inflow and outflow rates within the domain of interest, as well as the influence of other pedestrians.
Such fluctuations can reveal critical information about how pedestrians respond to sudden changes in their environment, and their analysis can inform various applications such as crowd management and safety protocols, where understanding both average and exceptional behaviors is crucial. Inference techniques can then be used on simulations of the theoretical model to extract meaningful data.
