One of the most influential recent hypotheses about the mind is the fragmented hypothesis, i.e., that the mind comprises a range of compartmentalized systems.
Contemporary philosophy demonstrates the effectiveness of the fragmented hypothesis for our understanding of human thinking.
This project aims to bolster the case for the fragmented hypothesis by exploring a range of novel theoretical applications in epistemology - e.g., to explain why people are reasonably efficient in their belief management and action choices, despite apparent logical limitations and belief biases. The goal is to show that such applications provide solid evidence for the fragmented hypothesis.
