Grant Description

My project name is : Microstructural characterisation of the tumour environment : towards virtual biopsy of prostate cancer. I am trying to build an initial study acquiring non-invasive and comprehensive characterisation of the prostate gland.

For my research I am using the most extensive MRI protocols at CUBRIC, Cardiff University, in its state-of-the-art Connectom scanners.

For feature extraction, I am utilising the Spaarc radiomics pipeline, which is developed in the LIDA lab at the school of Engineering.

I intend to acquire more MRI images in the near future, in patients with Prostate tumours to analyse the detection of cancer and translate computational models of underlying tissue microstructure like stroma content, vasculature, and epithelial cells, in the acquired high quality MR scans.
