Grant Description

This project will explore the drivers of climate variability on sub-seasonal to seasonal (S2S) timescales over East Africa, their representation in state of the art S2S forecasting systems.

We will assess how well forecasting systems realize the potential predictability from these modes of variability and how our understanding of the regime dependent skill of the forecast models can be used to advance decision making on these timescales.
