Grant Description

This PhD project is in the area of experimental nuclear physics.

It is intended to explore collectivity and shape coexistence in nuclei; in particular, the impact of isospin symmetry on collectivity.

Studies will be conducted along the line of N=Z nuclei especially for the heaviest N=Z nuclei that can be reached experimentally. Lifetime measurements will be used to assess nuclear collectivity in that region. Experiments are foreseen at the FRIB facility in Michigan and at other laboratories overseas.
