Transitions between different phases of matter are one of the most fascinating phenomena occurring at all energy scales in Nature. Independently of the microscopic details, the same universal laws govern systems ranging
from high temperature superconductors to neutron stars. The aim of the project is to use string theory inspired techniques to derive the mathematics describing the real time dynamics of systems which are close to a phase transition. These techniques are suitable to carry out exact computations which can lead lead to the universal laws that the project wishes to reveal.
