The aim of my thesis is to determine (n,y) cross sections of the isotope 68Zn. This cross section is essential for determining the production of zinc in massive stars. Previous experimental data of this reaction are scarce and discrepant. A new measurement of this reaction has been performed at the neutron time-of-flight facility n_TOF at CERN.
I will analyse the data to determine cross sections and neutron resonance parameters up to 200 keV energy with high accuracy. The impact of the cross section on nucleosynthesis process in stars will be investigated.
