This is a PhD research project in Electrical Engineering.
During the 3.5-years studentship, the student will be trained with both hardware and software knowledge, from the active microwave components to active phased arrays. With the equipped MIMO testbed, the student will start his learning from the basic concept of phased arrays, related beamforming network, signal processing and data transmission. This project will focus on the research of deep integration of active antennas and arrays with amplifiers for high efficiency and optimal system stability and performance.
The co-design of active and passive components will be carried out in the project. In conclusion, this project will conduct research covering advanced deep integration techniques and the implementation in large antenna arrays, to boost the wireless communication systems for the next-generate satellite and mobile communications.
