Grant Description

By 2023 it is expected that 8 billion devices will be available that allow people to speak with technology. This includes smartphones, Internet-enabled devices in the home, and computer interfaces in vehicles.

While the increase in voice technology presents new opportunities for interacting with computers, people who experience difficulties in fluent speech production like stammering are at risk of being excluded from this future.
