There are several key themes, spanning planetary science and planetary dynamics, that I propose to research during my PhD. These include,
The dynamics of small bodies in different planetary system - how does the host star affect the scattering of comets and asteroids, through the scattering rate, accretion efficiency, and resulting impact velocities?
How do these impacts affect the evolution of the Earth, and exoplanets more generally, such as through the impacts on prebiotic conditions. From this I will try and understand when, and how many volatiles are delivered to rocky planets.
Studying planetary systems around white dwarfs, as this is a powerful way of understanding the composition of the exoplanetary debris in these planetary systems.
