Recent measurements have hinted to the breakdown of lepton universality, a central principle of the Standard Model of particle physics. The simultaneous analysis of b-hadron decays to a charm hadron, a neutrino and either a muon or a tau lepton at LHCb has the sensitivity to establish the effect and investigate the nature of potential New Physics processes, when including CP-violating and angular observables.
Excellent track reconstruction capabilities are essential for the physics programme of LHCb future upgrades. In this project new track reconstruction strategies will find the best match with detectors using emerging technologies, to meet the performance requirements in challenging data taking conditions.
