This will involve investigating the potential for hypothesised multiple interacting axions (2 to 3) to be candidates for both dark matter and dark energy. The model requires the lightest axions to be dark energy, with some heavier consisting a fraction of dark matter.
If these multiple, very light, axions are dark energy and a small fraction of dark matter, the significant interactions and mixing of the particles model can be observed within current cosmological limits. Additionally, these interacting axion particles can alleviate the Hubble and sigma 8 tensions.
