Exoplanet transits present the opportunity to study composition and structure of planetary atmospheres in absorption.
In this project we will take advantage of recent discoveries of transiting exoplanets around bright stars, particularly with TESS and NGTS, and apply a range of ground-based and space telescopes to detect a range of atomic and molecular species. Our initial focus will be on longer-period cool giant planets, which have not been studied to date.
We also aim to use high-resolution spectroscopy to study global circulation on such exoplanets.
