Cells in developmental morphogenesis require feedback from their environment to find their correct positions and establish functional shapes. The processes are challenging to understand in vivo so this project will integrate simulations to provide essential explanatory power to untangle the complex feedback. The Bentley laboratory are
expert in developing predictive cell simulations and the MacDonald lab are in vivo experts understanding glial cells, the support cells of the nervous system. In order to conduct their many supportive functions for neurons, glial cells must be positioned correctly amongst the synaptic connections, but how glial cells achieve this remains to
be explored.
