Grant Description

My key objectives are

* Undertake co-location analysis, identifying the suitability of offshore wind sites suitable for macroalgae aquaculture around the UK and Europe.

* Analyse the feasibility of the most suitable sites identified in the mapping study - this will include the current barriers and risks to deployment, as well as stakeholder analysis to gain a wider understanding of industry opinions towards multi-use areas. * Undertake a materials investigation into sustainable macroalgae lines e.g., the use of wool rather than a plastic.

* Quantify the effects of commercial offshore macroalgae aquaculture for biodiversity and the environment.
