Grant Description

Mercury Inventories.

In support of UNEP Governing Council decision, reduce uses and releases of mercury from: (1) industrial sources including chloralkali, PVC and thermometers in Russia and China; (2) mining, including artisanal and large scale mining in China, Brazil and Senegal; and, (3) industrial combustion, including cement kilns and incinerators in China.

Partnerships will continue to be used to achieve EPA and USG results, including stakeholders from NGOs and the private sector participating in pilot demonstrations of technologies and the transfer of best practices.
