National Institute of Ecology/GE Corn General Public Forum/Post Meeting.
The main objective for this meeting was to exchange information/ideas about one or more arthropod species that may serve as an early indicator of the possible changes that GE corn may bring to the environment.
Researchers in Mexico are gathering information about biotechnology regulation in the US, and BRS shared references and additional information on crop production practices.
National GE Corn General Public Forum: On July 26 and 27, 2012, BRS also participated in an open meeting with about 145 participants in Guadalajara, Mexico.
There were seven technical presentations, ranging from corn diversity and commercialization, to the impact of this technology on the environment and pest management, and five additional regulatory topics.
