Grant Description

The Surveillance Network Analysis Tool (SNAT) was developed to support the regionalization and harmonization of epidemiological surveillance for animal diseases in the Caribbean Basin.

The assessment evaluates the structure, strategy, data management, coordination, training and reporting of the animal health surveillance system within a country. A USDA expert assisted on the SNAT assessment for Trinidad as an expert on veterinary infrastructure evaluation.

The results of the assessment will be utilized by the agricultural and veterinary authorities within the country for future prioritization of issues and resources, as well as by the countries within the region, and by the CaribVET steering committee for future regional activities and needs prioritization.
